PLOT
While going through a bitter divorce with his wife Amy, the successful author Mort Rainey is unexpectedly accused of plagiarism by a dangerous stranger named John Shooter. Shooter claims that Rainey stole his story, changing only the ending--and he demands justice. Rainey claims that he wrote the story first, and he struggles to find an original copy of the magazine which contains the story for proof. When Shooter's threats become more and more serious, Rainey turns to Detective Ken Karsch for help. But when nothing seems to work, Rainey finds out that the only way to get Shooter to leave him alone is to "fix the ending..."
